وسبب تاليفه انه حضره - اي الامام الجزولي- وقت الصلاة فقام يتوضأ لها , فلم يجد ما يخرج به الماء من البئر , فبينما هو كذلك اذ نظرت اليه صبية من مكان عال فقالت له من انت؟ فاخبرها , فقالت انت الرجل الذي يثنى عليك بالخير و تتحير فيما يخرج به الماء من البئر؟ وبصقت في البئر ففاض ماؤها حتى ساح على الارض فقال الشيخ بعد ان فرغ من وضوئه اقسمت عليك بما نلت هذه المرتبة ؟ فقالت بكثـــــــــرة الصلاة على من كان اذا يمشي في البر الاقفر تعلقت الوحوش باذياله صلى الله عليه و سلم.فحلف ان يؤلف كتابا في الصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم.
