Hello. The early development continues.
Now, this time we have made significant improvements to the help section.
@Multiple Help Videos Set
In the last update, I added help videos, but to make it easier to understand, I have increased the number.
Additionally, the help videos now download in the background after opening the app.
Specifically, I have created help videos in Japanese and English, including explanations for less noticeable operations such as rearranging titles and bulk deletion.
Furthermore, I have made videos explaining how to extract the main text from blog articles in the browser and import them into Voicepaper.
By the way, due to changes in Google Drive's policies, integrating Google Drive with apps developed worldwide has become practically impossible.
Other various minor bug fixes have also been implemented.

Hello! My daily routine is back on track.
This update includes various fixes:
- Added an option to select the low-quality version from the audio settings.
- Fixed a crash issue with the timer button on iPad.
- Other minor bug fixes.
In the previous update, I added video help for downloading high-quality audio and made it selectable in the settings to make things clearer.
While the high-quality version is clearly better in Japanese, I received feedback that the low-quality version is more convenient in some other languages, like Chinese.
This feedback surprised me, but I decided to modify the audio settings to allow the low-quality version to be selected.
Additionally, there was a major bug on the iPad where tapping the timer button caused the app to crash. Since I usually use the app on my iPhone, I didn’t notice it.
I’ve also fixed other minor bugs.

This time again, it's a modest update.

First, I've added an easy-to-follow video showing how to download high-quality voices, which is the most important feature when using this app.
I hope this makes it much clearer for first-time users. This was the biggest hurdle before.
Also, following the flow from the previous update, I've made the repeat and sleep functions free to use. I think this allows users to thoroughly try out the app's benefits without much hassle.
As for differentiation with the paid version, I plan to observe and adjust the balance accordingly.

First, the default voice speed was set too fast, so I've adjusted it to be more user-friendly. For premium users, you can fine-tune the default speed from the voice settings screen if you wish to make detailed adjustments.
As an experiment, I've made it possible for free version users to change the voice speed. Additionally, the playlist feature is now available for free.
I've also changed the system so that free version users can use it continuously for up to 30 minutes, and after waiting 5 hours, they can use another 30 minutes.
I'm trying to strike a balance between making the free version reasonably usable while encouraging heavy users to consider the premium version. Let's see how this works out.

After much trial and error recently, I finally implemented the text translation feature.
This function is available from iOS18, allowing you to take pictures of foreign language books, import the text, and then translate it into your preferred language to listen to all at once.

As a Japanese person, reading English books is challenging for me, but I'm hoping this will allow me to read much more extensively from now on.

The annual iOS update is a regular occurrence. For developers, it's an autumn tradition to rush to fix things that used to work but no longer do.
This time, I'm fixing the backup data restoration that stopped working in iOS18. I thought this would be resolved quickly, but I ended up pondering over it for more than three days while consulting AI.
When I couldn't fix it properly, I decided to ask on a programming Q&A site, and it was resolved. I'm glad about that.
Additionally, I've received reports of issues with intermittent playback via Bluetooth and CarPlay since the update to iOS18, but I'm having trouble reproducing these on my own device, which is quite challenging. If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate your feedback.

Voicepaper can integrate with Instapaper and Pocket, services that allow you to save web pages to read later.
The integration with Pocket wasn't working properly, so I fixed that.
Specifically, since Pocket's tool stopped working, I modified it to work by directly connecting with their API instead.
I was able to discover this problem and pinpoint the cause thanks to the detailed feedback from users who use the Pocket integration. Thank you.
Also, there are issues that need to be fixed, such as Google Drive integration and data backup restoration in iOS 18, so I'm currently investigating these problems.
