    This is a big one. We have reimagined how the app delivers the info that matters most to you. The result? A lighter, more intuitive experience that puts everything you need right at your fingertips. It might feel a little different at first, but give it a couple of days - you’ll see why it just makes sense.

    A Smarter, Simpler Experience
    As the app has grown, we’ve realized that while we’ve added valuable features - like vitals, sleep analysis, and the period tracker - not everyone was finding them. That’s on us. So, we went back to the drawing board.

    Nothing’s been removed, just reorganized. The new layout puts the most relevant info at your fingertips, making the app feel lighter and more intuitive. Plus, you can customize the appearance to make it truly yours.

    For You, Now Truly Yours
    The For You section is now fully personalized, with the most relevant info always at the top. In the morning, you’ll see your wellbeing and sleep recap first; later, when those are no longer the priority, workout recaps for that day take the center stage.

    What’s in For You?
    Some categories appear by default, while others can be added. To customize this section, tap the Settings icon next to the For You title—you can reorder and include/exclude sections as you like.

    • Daily Wellbeing Recap (default)
    Yorhart’s expression, background color, and a short message about what stands out (if anything) give you a quick sense of where you are. Tap it to enter the previous Wellbeing tab.

    • Last Night’s Sleep (default)
    Sleep quality, duration, and sleep phases are visible on the card. Tap to access the full Sleep section, including detailed analysis and trends.

    • Menstrual Cycle (default)
    The card displays the day and phase of your cycle, along with your stress tolerance for the day. This can help you make informed activity decisions—if the info resonates with how you feel. Tap to open the full feature.

    • Go Gentler Suggestion (default)
    Get up to two of the most suitable daily activity suggestions. The rest are available in the Go Gentler feature at the top right corner of Streak.

    • Monthly Recap (default)
    On the 1st of each month, you’ll get a recap of your activity success. Past recaps remain available at the top of the Insights tab.

    • Insights (not enabled by default)
    If you want actionable insights on various health topics, you could get up to four served here. The full library is still accessible for free in the Insights tab.

    If you disable everything and For You looks empty, no worries! Just tap the Settings icon next to it and re-enable your preferred categories.

    Activity Overview
    Logged activities on the day now appear above For You.
    Activities from up to 9 or 29 days prior (depending on which Activity Path view you have enabled) are shown below For You under Past Activities.

    This month, we’re putting women’s health in the spotlight—where it should, in fact, be every day of the year. Women’s health has long been overlooked and underrepresented in research and solutions, and we’re doing our bit to change that.

    Gentler Streak recognizes the importance of the menstrual cycle in a woman’s daily well-being. By logging your cycle in Gentler Streak, you gain an added layer of information about how your body responds across all phases—like stress tolerance and providing flow workout recommendations, along with the option to rest when your period arrives! With an upcoming UI update (later in March), Cycle will move to the Streak tab, so this info will be right there in the “For You” section visible on the app open. You can also explore articles that shed light on the changes throughout reproductive years, perimenopause, and menopause, making it all a bit easier to understand and navigate.

    Great things come in pairs: health widgets (YES, THE MAGICAL W WORD!) and some RPE wisdom. The first couple is here by popular demand, and the second comes from observing how misunderstood the RPE concept is in the wild and trying to provide some context.

    NEW HEALTH WIDGETS - Have your daily wellbeing at a glance!

    1. Various Health Metrics Widget:
    - see your Sleeping Heart Rate, HRV, Oxygen Levels, Respiratory Rate, and Wrist Temperature all in one view.
    - Shows the latest daily measurements and a 7-day trend.
    - When all is good, the chart’s green. If there’s an outlier, it’ll turn orange or red—depending on how big the deviation is.
    Don’t need a certain metric in there? You can exclude it from the view on the Wellbeing tab (feature settings), and it will be gone from the widget as well.

    2. Single Health Metric Widget:
    - Same as above, but focused on the one metric you choose.

    How It Works:
    - In the morning, the widget refreshes within half an hour after you wake up, no need to open Gentler Streak. (It takes a bit for night-time data to process in Health and sync with us.)
    - Both widgets update every time you open the iPhone app.

    If you like the sound of that, here’s how to bring your wellbeing front and center on your Home Screen:
    1. From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps start to jiggle.
    2. Tap Edit in the upper-left corner.
    3. Tap Add Widget.
    4. Select a widget you want, choose its size, and then tap Add Widget.
    5. Tap Done, and you're all set!

    “What about complications?”
    Complications for health metrics are tricky, which is exactly why we haven’t done them yet. The communication flow between HealthKit, iPhone, and Apple Watch isn’t the most reliable or timely, which can lead to a poor user experience—aka unhappy people. For now, we will let this be and rather focus on features we can execute well on all levels.

    NEW INSIGHTS - Wondering About RPE?

    You might’ve noticed the RPE acronym popping up more since last September when Apple introduced the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) to their workout tracking.
    It’s been in Gentler Streak for two years, tucked at the bottom of your workout summaries. The concept isn’t super intuitive, and even though we try to lead with guidance, sometimes it’s used in ways that do more harm than good. So, we’ve added extra context:

    You’ll find both free articles in the Insights tab.

    Well, it turns out we introduced a bug with our recent update.

    If your sleep duration appeared unusually long last night, but you don’t actually feel the benefits of that long sleep, this update is for you! The problem occurred for seemingly awake periods - the time for which we did not receive sleep data. If that seemingly awake time was followed by another logged sleep phase or a nap, it was then automatically added to your sleep duration.

    After updating the app to this version, the issue will be gone.

    Hello hello! It is time for some bug fixing, mostly regarding tracking on the Gentler Streak Apple Watch app.

    Here’s what’s new:
    - when you start a Go Gentler workout on iPhone it should now always begin on Gentler Streak Apple watch
    - when you start a workout on our Apple Watch app, and while the 3, 2, 1, GO is in progress, you put the app in the background, and then come back to it, tracking should be working normally
    - in-app mirroring (starting a workout on AW app, and then starting to mirror it on iPhone) was causing us some issues, hopefully they are now sorted

    For Oura ring users:
    - your sleep and phase durations should no longer exceed the actual time you spend in bed
