De GPS Caddie van Expert Golf stuurt de exacte afstand tot de green naar uw beeldscherm. Hierbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van technologisch geavanceerde GPS technologie die tot op een afstand van 1 tot 3 meter nauwkeurig is. U kunt tevens de lengte van uw slagen meten (bv. drives). De afstanden zijn direct en zonder uw tussenkomst af te lezen op uw beeldscherm (u hoeft niet op uw doel te richten en de vlag hoeft voor u niet zichtbaar te zijn). Deze functie wordt ondersteund door een enorme database met daarin de GPS-coördinaten van de golfbanen.
De nauwkeurigheid van de baangegevens is bij Expert Golf van het grootste belang. Daarom worden de zeer nauwkeurige gegevens verzameld in samenwerking met nationale landmeetkundige, kadastrale en topografische diensten, in tegenstelling tot de meeste andere aanbieders die gegevens gebruiken op basis van gratis luchtfotografie en daarom afwijkingen van tientallen meters tolereren.

FAQ – Waarom vraagt Expert Golf een jaarlijkse bijdrage?
Ieder jaar wordt 15% van de golfbanen ingrijpend aangepast, verbouwd of wordt de volgorde van de holes veranderd. Dit betekent dat de baangegevens continu geactualiseerd en bijgehouden moeten worden. Met de jaarlijks terugkerende vergoeding heeft u altijd gegarandeerd toegang tot de meest actuele, bijgewerkte en tot op de meter nauwkeurige gegevens. Bij de meeste aanbieders die een eenmalige bijdrage vragen is er een grote kans dat de gegevens op een zeker moment niet meer up to date zijn.

Expert Golf is de enige app die alles wat een speler nodig heeft gedurende een golfronde, op de iPhone zet. On the basis of state-of-the-art GPS technology, the GPS Caddie from Expert Golf sends the exact distance to the green directly to your display – with an accuracy of 1-3 meters. You can also measure the length of your shots (e.g. drives). The distances are permanently available to be read off the display, without any user interaction (no aiming necessary and you do not have to be able to see the flag). This is facilitated by a vast database containing the GPS coordinates of the golf courses.
The accuracy of the data is of utmost importance to Expert Golf. Therefore highly-accurate data is collected in cooperation with the national surveying and topography offices and other government agencies – as opposed to most other providers whose apps are based on free aerial imagery and who thus tolerate discrepancies of tens of meters.

FAQ – Why Expert Golf charges an annual fee
Each year approximately 15% of golf courses are redesigned or newly built or the order of their holes is changed etc. This means that the database has to be constantly maintained and updated. Only with an annual fee concept will you be guaranteed access to up-to-date and comprehensive data that you can trust on a long-term basis. Providers that only charge a once-only payment for their app will sooner or later stop maintaining their data.
