"Ultimate Drum Tune" consists of two modes.
Watch & Tune Mode
Introduction
"Try tuning while listening to the sound.
You can recreate the same tone as your favorite artist within 1 minute!!"
In this mode, you can tune your drums to a tone similar to the drum sound in the drum performance videos.
The snare drum measurements are regularly updated, and you can view them categorized by favorites, searches, genres, and pitches.
Please note that the suggested tuning values are measured by the developer and might have some degree of error.
However, through this, you can achieve a tone that closely matches the video.
How to Use
a. Watch
Select the desired video from the list of drum performance videos or use the search function (coming soon) to find and watch videos.
b. Tune
Click the "Top Lug" button and the "Bottom Lug" button to tune while listening to each pitch, tuning until you reach the desired sound.
Precautions
Remove the snare drum and toms from the stands.
Place them on a surface like the floor or a rotating platform where the bottom is blocked.
Mute the bottom head using materials like towels to prevent it from vibrating, then proceed with tuning.
Measure & Customize
Introduction
Every drum in the world has varying tuning values due to differences in drum shell thickness, depth, and head types. As a result, the process of deriving information through measurements is necessary for each drum.
Using the 12 relative pitches from lower to upper octaves for the same note, users can obtain values that allow them to tune to their desired fundamental pitch.
Getting Started
Select the "Measure & Customize" mode.
Press the Save (floppy disk-shaped) button to input and save the name of the Drum Kit or individual drums.
One set of saved data consists of groups like Snare Drum, 10”, 12”, 13”, 14”, 16”, 18” Tom Drum.
Measuring
Choose the type of drum you want to measure. Two measurements are needed for each drum.
For the first measurement, try pressing the Top and Bottom buttons suggested by the app.
The signal generator will run, allowing you to hear the pitch.
Adjust the Top Lug Pitch and Bottom Lug Pitch until they match the same note. Note down the Fundamental value after measuring.
For the second measurement, tune the Top Lug Pitch and Bottom Lug Pitch to the values suggested by the app. Note down the Fundamental value after measuring.
Once the measurement is complete, press the Save button to overwrite and save the data.
Using
After measurement, below the screen, values for tuning to your desired Fundamental Pitch are listed, spanning 12 different relative pitches from lower to upper octaves for the same note.
Touch each value manually, and the Signal Generator will play, allowing you to hear the pitch.
For more precise tuning, you can use the Adjustment feature to correct any discrepancies.
The video below demonstrates the tuning process for adjusting the G3 note by a minor third after measurement.
Precautions
If the thickness of the head changes, you need to measure and save again.
Using tools like Tunebot and Drum Dial can enable more precise tuning. Both the snare drum and tom-tom drums should be detached from the stands.
Place them on a surface like the floor or a rotating platform where the bottom is blocked.
Mute the bottom head using materials like towels to prevent it from vibrating, then proceed with tuning.
