NEW CHAMPIONS

Spiral
Spiral is a six-armed sorceress and swordswoman originating from Mojoworld. Once a talented stuntwoman named Rita Wayword, she was cybernetically transformed by the loathsome Mojo, whom she was forced to serve. Initially an adversary to Longshot and the X-Men, she eventually made amends, and has fought beside them on many occasions. Her magic is powered by dance-like progressions of Wushu forms, which she further enhances with her many arms and armaments.

Dazzler
Alison Blaire, better known by her stage name Dazzler, is a famous singer and powerful Mutant with the ability to convert sound into stunning displays of light. While she tries to focus on her music career, Alison constantly seems to get roped into saving the world. Whether she winds up fighting alongside the X-Men, thrown into deep space, or even pulled into alternate dimensions, Dazzler always maintains her rhythm.

Event Quest - Sparkle and Shine
Ever since The World Tree started regrowing Manhattan, the city has been home to vicious villainy. Bullseye made it a hunting ground, Arcade made it a wicked amusement park, and now finally Mojo has claimed the city as the final arena for a winner-takes-all tournament! Will the surprising final round pick DAZZLER be a show stopper? Or will the masterful and menacing multitasking of SPIRAL cut Dazzler’s performance short? Find out in SPARKLE AND SHINE!

Side-Quest - Chrono-versary Part 1
After 10 years of multidimensional events and quantum entanglements, The Fantastic Four have tasked H.E.R.B.I.E. and The Summoner with chrono-cataloging the Champions of The Contest.

To prevent potential chronological disturbance, The Summoner may only conduct this census using Champions who appeared in The Contest in the same year as those being investigated. So dust off that roster and Rank Up those classic Champions, because the 10th Anniversary of The Contest of Champions is going to be a battle for (and through) the ages!

This special anniversary Side-Quest will be running all the way to the end of the year with PART 2 arriving in December! So take your time (but not too much time) as you face down these epic eras of The Contest!


Events Screen Updates
We have updated the Events screen to include visual and quality of life improvements. These include; scaling UI based on device width, increased ‘Claim’ button size, the addition of an ‘Expiring Soon’ state, and improvements to notification badging, visual transitions and filtering.

Daily Super Event Returns!
The Daily Super Event that we launched earlier in the year is making its permanent return! Keep an eye out later in November for the much anticipated event reactivation.

Glorious Games - Incursions Saga Sector
The Incursions Saga Sector returns for Glorious Games! Grab your best roster of Saga Champions and dive into this challenge sector to earn rewards such as Banquet Tickets, 7-Star Shards and a 7-Star Saga Rank Up Gem (Rank 1-2).

NEW CHAMPIONS
Scream
Daughter of Venom, sister to Carnage, Scream is one of five Symbiotes forcibly harvested from Venom by the Life Foundation. The symbiote that would become Scream was bonded to Donna Diego, one of the Life Foundation's most trusted Security Guards. Unfortunately, Scream and her siblings lost their altercations with Spider-Man and Venom, but they survived the Life Foundation’s collapse. Scream and Donna were left with only each other and a grudge against other symbiotes.

Jack O' Lantern
“Jack” was always a rotten pumpkin. At a young age, one lonesome Halloween night he unknowingly approached the house of Crime-Master, who kidnapped him and trained him as his protégé. Over time, Jack became a master assassin, developing a calling card where he placed candles inside the heads of his victims, to simulate the appearance of a jack-o-lantern. He took that name as his own, and erased those who had used it in the past.

Deathless She-Hulk
In years past, Champions from the Death Realm staged an assault on The Battlerealm. Empowered by the Death Stone, Thanos created Nameless, empty versions of the heroes of the Battlerealm. Of these Nameless Champions, a select few were granted malicious will and elevated to become the Deathless, to lead his armies and sow chaos and destruction. She-Hulk was the fourth and last (for now) Champion so elevated. Seeing law and order for the weak lies they are, she now lives to spread pain and chaos throughout an unprepared Battlerealm.

Event Quest - House Of Horrors
Jessica Jones has recruited The Summoner to help her crack a case. It seems that someone has a serious symbiote stalking problem and all clues lead to a creepy killer carnival. Scream is already on the scene making noise, but things really light up as Jack O’Lantern activates abominable animatronics! Is this a ride our heroes will survive? Or is this about to become a ghost story? Find out in HOUSE OF HORRORS!

Side-Quest - Jack’s Bounty-full Hunt
As the Maestro’s festivities continue, Jack O’Lantern finds himself as the host of the Gladiatorial Games. Seeing an opportunity to kill two birds (or any Champions in range) with one stone, he fills the arena with would-be assassination targets and has them fight amongst themselves!

Arcade Games Showcase:
A group of exceptional Alliance War Defenders, some of them carrying the House of Mirrors Tactic, have gathered in a new Quest and await your challenge! Experience the thrill of fighting powerful Defender placements from Master Tier Wars. The Arcade Games Showcase will arrive later this month. Are you ready for your path?

Bounty Missions
Bosses from previous Event Quests have snuck back into The Battlerealm! Help track down and defeat these bosses once again in 1v1 fights! You’ll need to be part of an Alliance to to get the most out of these Missions so be sure to find your team and join in the action! Take down more Bounties, get more rewards, and unlock Elite Bounty Boards which will let you take on even more challenging Champions. This Event resets each week so don’t let those Bounties go to waste!

Deadpool's Ultimate Multiplayer Bonanza Alliance Super Season
Deadpool wants us all to just be one big happy Alliance family. An Alliance is like a family that celebrates one another, shares the riches, and DOES BATTLE WITH OTHER FAMILIES! Special Solo Objectives and Alliance Events will reward you for playing Multiplayer modes such as Alliance Wars, Alliance Quests, Incursions, and Battlegrounds. Go show that teamwork makes the taco-flavored dream work!

Count Nefaria
Count Luchino Nefaria was the descendant of a long line of Italian noblemen, and used his wealth and connections to become a powerful leader within the Maggia crime syndicate. He furthered his rise to power by subjecting himself to scientific experiments that granted him superhuman abilities, but cost him his life. He was later resurrected as a being made entirely of Ionic energy, rendering him effectively immortal as long as he drains other Ionic beings to maintain his power.

Shathra
Daughter of the Elder Goddesses Oshtur and Gaea, Shathra comes from the world that would come to be known as Loomworld. Shathra was tasked with creating the Celestial Map of Humanity, however, after being outdone by her younger sister Neith, she became enraged with jealousy and spite towards her sister and the Great Web she had designed. Consumed by her vengeance and envy, Shathra gave into her feral nature to tear down everything her sister created, one Spider at a time.

There has been an undertaking to overthrow The Collector’s ship! The Summoner is being called in to evict these evil-doers! But as they make it deeper into the ship they also find themselves deeper in trouble as each villain seems to be making their own plans for how best to make the most of The Collector’s treasures. Will The Summoner be able to manage these miscreants? Or will they go down with the ship? Find out in LUPUS IN FABULA!

Side Quest - Ludum Maximus
The Maestro has declared four months of celebratory games to honor his return. The festivities begin with the Circus Maximus, an onslaught of games and challenges hosted by Count Nefaria. The Count will not accept anything less than the best, the mightiest, the greatest of games. So dare to enter LUDUM MAXIMUS!

Nefaria knows that a true battle is a mix of skill and luck, so 5x weekly Maps will open which present randomized Paths filled with fearsome foes!

Act 9; Chapter 1
Glykhan has self-destructed but the sinister plotting of Ouroboros is far from over. However clues for where to head next seem few and far between. Luckily (depending on your definition of luck) Superior Kang has some secrets to share in the form of holo-tapes scattered around Battleworld. Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom send The Summoner on an intel retrieval mission, but they aren’t the only ones looking for answers. Will the past come back to haunt The Battlerealm? Find out in Act 9 - Chapter 1: THE RECKONING

Introducing our third Saga: Glorious Games! To celebrate the history of the Contest and his triumphant return, The Maestro has declared four months of celebratory games. Each month of the Saga will revolve around a different element of games, starting with September's Circus Maximus and culminating in the celebration of December's Grand Banquet! Featuring a classical antiquity aesthetic, an exciting Champion chase, surprise Champion reworks and brand new kinds of Events and Quests, Glorious Games is sure to usher in our 10-year anniversary celebration in style!

Realm Events
Get ready to work alongside every Summoner in the Battlerealm! Realm Events are a brand new type of Event in which points will be contributed on a global level. Milestone rewards can be claimed once global and individual point contribution thresholds have been reached. For those more competitively-inclined Summoners, ranked rewards will also be up for grabs, including an exclusive and unique player title.

NEW CHAMPIONS

Enchantress
Amora, better known as the Enchantress is among the oldest known Asgardians, and the possessor of some of the realm’s most powerful magics. Her arcane powers derive not only from a natural gift for manipulating Asguardian energies, but also from a lifetime’s worth of earned spellcasting knowledge. Even powerless, Amora remains a threat through her mastery of the art of seduction. With a simple kiss, she can enslave almost any man to her will.

Beta Ray Bill
Beta Ray Bill is a Korbinite who became a powerful cyborg in order to protect his own people from the threat of Surtur and his fire giants. In a battle against Thor he proved his worthiness to Odin, who was so impressed by Bill's prowess and honorable actions that he crafted a unique magical hammer exclusively for the Korbinite - Stormbreaker! Armed with the might of Stormbreaker and his own fiery sense of justice, Beta Ray Bill travels the stars in search of wrongs to right and villains to vanquish.

Event Quest - No Rest For The Wicked
BETA RAY BILL finally arrives to The Contest in response to Nova's distress beacon. Unfortunately, Bill’s entrance throws things into conflict, and to make matters more upsetting he seems to have an odd obsession with the regrown World Tree. Nova and the gang try to calm Bill down, but clouded minds and the arrival of ENCHANTRESS does nothing to ease tensions. The usually villainous Asgardian claims to be here to help, but will she provide mercy or torment?

Side Quest - Beta Ray Battle Zone
Arcade has dropped Beta Ray Bill and The Summoner into his grand finale! The heroic pair must fight through an old-school Battle Zone gamespace where Arcade makes the rules. Bill has forged on ahead, leaving behind rewards to help The Summoner catch up. But Arcade has dispatched Champion Avatars to stop the Summoner’s journey. Clear every "Zone" for points and rewards, and dispatch the last of Arcade's wannabe Champions to put his reign of terror to an end!

Events Screen Overhaul
Our Events page has been completely reimagined! Ease of use, clarity and visual fidelity are at the forefront of this ‘from the ground up’ rebuild. This new hub will also be the home of our brand new Event type; Realm Events, coming in the near future!

Reunion Event
Introducing the Reunion Event! This Event, formerly known as Legends, features a new Calendar, Store, Objectives, Crystals, and much more - all centered around a brand new Quest; The Crucible!

The Crucible
Prepare to have your roster seriously tested as you face-off against challenging opponents from Act 7! Two new pieces of tech will be utilized by The Crucible; Elimination Choice Nodes and Unrestricted Quest Teams! Elimination Choice Nodes are a new challenge that forces you to swap out a Champion. Champions that have been swapped out cannot be used again for the remainder of the active Quest. In The Crucible, each opponent will be immediately followed by an Elimination Choice Node, and with a team size of one this means Summoners will have to use a different Champion for every fight. Unrestricted Quest Teams is a new feature built for longform Quests that are intended to take multiple days to complete. For select Quests, players and their teams will have the ability to be active in two PvE Quests at the same time, so you can take on The Crucible while you continue with your regularly scheduled questing!

Vision was the third Deathless he created. Deathless Vision no longer sees the line between good or evil, he draws his own lines.

Patriot
Eli Bradley has long known the best and the worst of his country. His grandfather Isaiah was one of the very first Super Soldiers, the kind of warrior for liberty that little boys dream of becoming. But Isaiah's work, like the brutal experiments that gave him his powers and so many of his peers an early death, was kept a shameful secret by the country he served, teaching Eli from a young age that service is never simple. Still, feeling a deep need to make the world a better place, he co-founded the Young Avengers as Patriot. Though sometimes at odds with Captain America and the Avengers, Eli still earned their respect, even taking up Cap's original shield with his blessing. Patriot continues to strive to make his home into the better place it must become.

The Leader
Samuel Sterns was once an average high school dropout, but after working the night shift at a chemical plant, a gamma explosion left him with an insatiable lust for knowledge. It turns out the gamma granted Sam a genius-level intellect, which he then used to turn himself into The Leader, an evil mastermind and arch nemesis to the Hulk.

The Battlerealm’s premier prison facility, known as THE RAFT, goes into lockdown as unusually high Gamma Radiation is detected. The Summoner arrives to help only to be met by Elijah Bradley aka PATRIOT, who is having a boat-load of troubles of his own! Friends and foes alike are being mentally manipulated by the gamma-enhanced mind of THE LEADER! Hopefully the arrival of Chee'ilth will help keep the inhabitants of this cage from going green with Gamma. But how long will it be until this whole prison breaks?!

Side-Quest - Deadpool & Wolverine: Alpha Fight
The Arcade Games continue as Deadpool and Wolverine are tasked with cracking the case on some absent Alpha Flight friends! Will things end in polite discussion, or a flurry of claws and blades? We’ll see what sort of maple-flavored mischief the Merc with a Mouth and his pals get up to with Alpha Fight!

Spring of Sorrow Gauntlet:
The culmination of your pain and SORROW will occur this month, where you will be tasked with dealing with all 4 of the previous fights plus 2 NEW FIGHTS in not one but two painful paths! Fret not though, as you will have the entire month to deal with this heroic task. Be warned however, that these encounters are not for the faint of heart, and will cause you to be overcome with SORROW. To further increase the trials set before you, this month-long quest will feature not 2, not 3, but 4 Solo Objectives for you to try to overcome!

Incursions Murderworld Challenge:
Gather your Arcade Games Saga Champions and bring them to Incursions to take on the Murderworld Challenge! This sector will test your knowledge of the Saga Champion roster and will reward those who conquer the challenge with 7-Star shards, Titan shards, 7-Star Saga signature stones and plenty more!

NEW CHAMPIONS

Northstar
Jean-Paul Beaubier, known as Northstar, is a prominent member of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight alongside his twin sister Aurora. A former gold medalist Olympic skier, he possesses hypersonic speed, flight, and photonic energy blasts, making him a swift force in battle. He is a vital ally to the X-Men and respected instructor at the Xavier Institute. Jean-Paul oversees ""Team Northstar Extreme Sports"" along with his husband Kyle, having settled in the mutant sanctuary of Krakoa with their daughter Joanne.

Arcade
A notorious hitman with a penchant for the dramatic, Arcade quickly gained infamy in the shadiest of circles by refusing to eliminate his targets by conventional means. True to his showman roots, he prefers to construct elaborate “Murderworlds” to trap his contestants within and finish them off with his own brand of chaos. Over the years, he has been repeatedly employed to eliminate the X-Men who always find a way to escape his schemes. This has caused his reputation to lose footing with other villains, but now Arcade arrives in the Battlerealm with something to prove with his deadly Murderworld technology.

Event Quest - All Fun And Games:
Responding to an Alpha Flight distress call, NORTHSTAR arrives in New Manhattan only to discover that he is a Player in the deadly games of ARCADE. To defeat this challenge they'll need The Summoner as their Player 2 while they try to button-mash through the lethal levels of this treacherous trap-master! See if you’re leveling up or checking out in ALL FUN AND GAMES!

Side Quest - Terror Twister:
Arcade’s amusement park is open for business and terrifying rides will be twisting The Summoner’s choices with traps and tricks! Murderworld is as full of treasures as it is filled with dangers, so be sure to keep a look out for a special reward you’ll be able to unlock by completing each challenging map through the month!


Spring of Sorrow:
Spring has come, and soon a special set of challenges will be made available to those who have become Paragon or higher! Challenging content that consists of ONE 1v1 Quest will be released every 2 weeks. Be warned however, that these encounters are not for the faint of heart, and will cause you to be overcome with SORROW. To further increase the trials set before you, each Quest will be accompanied by Solo Objectives for you to try to overcome!


NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS


Quick Heal: Get back into the action faster with Quick Heal! This feature will assess the necessary revives and potions required to get your Champions back into fighting shape, select the best options from your inventory and stash, and provide dynamic top-up options if your items are running low.

Battlegrounds Victory Track Medal Upgrades:
We are introducing quality of life improvements to the Battlegrounds Victory Track system! The climb through the Victory Track to the Gladiator’s Circuit will be more manageable for more players, as the entire Victory Track will now operate under a ‘two medals gained per win, one medal lost per defeat’ system. Additional ranks, with additional rewards, have been added to each tier in order to facilitate these changes.

Silver Sable
Silver Sable, a born leader and a master of many forms of martial arts, she is a highly skilled marksman and swordsman, using her training to lead a group of reformed criminals working as mercenaries in a group known as the “Wild Pack”. As the CEO of Silver Sable International, she helps provide security, recover stolen property, and apprehend felons for big companies and even countries.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Eloise Phimister, a.k.a. Negasonic Teenage Warhead, was once a devout student of Emma Frost and was among the mutants wiped out by the wild Sentinel attack on Genosha. After being resurrected by the External Selene, Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s powers have grown, enhancing her precognition and allowing her to create fiery bursts of atomic energy as well as the ability to shape reality itself.

Event Quest - The Train Job
Deadpool Teams up with Negasonic Teenage Warhead and the Mercs for Money to tackle a lucrative train heist for a mysterious employer. However, things quickly go south when the Mercs find out Deadpool's been keeping secrets about the job. To make matters worse, the Mercs quickly realize they're not the only one on the job when Silver Sable shows up to claim the same artifact.


Side Quest - Knull’s Lair
After months of terrorizing The Contest, the lair of the infamous Lord of The Abyss KNULL has finally been discovered. It’s time to put an end to this cosmic threat before he can conquer the citizens of Krakoa! Summoners will get weekly LAIR KEYS in order to enter KNULL’S LAIR and challenge the King in Black himself!

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS


Discord Link in Settings: You can now find the link to the public MCOC Discord through the Settings Menu.

New ways to unlock your Story Progression levels: For those players Conqueror through Thronebreaker (Acts 4 to 6), there are now new Alternative Story Progression Milestone Unlock conditions. This will allow you to alternatively achieve these account upgrades through collecting and ranking up your favorite Champions. Use this new progression avenue to power up, and then advance further through the epic story of The Contest!

Incursions Challenge Sectors
Challenge Sectors are temporary additions to Incursions that will take place once per Saga, beginning with the X-Magica Saga Challenge Sector. The difficulty of this new Sector is comparable to Sector 6, but Summoners will only be able to use Saga Champions. Get ready to conquer this new Incursions challenge!

Alliance Quest Buff Update
For upcoming Alliance Quests, we will be adding six new Bonus Buffs for Summoners to choose from when starting out! The Choice nodes on Maps 4-8 will now include twelve different Bonus Buffs based around each Class to select from in order to assist players.
